Young Man from Komaragiri Patnam Selected for the Indian Air Force
A Flood of Congratulations for Joel We.
A young man hailing from the Military Colony in Komaragiri Patnam (Allavaram Mandal, Ambedkar Konaseema District) has been selected for the prestigious Indian Air Force 'Agniveer' program. Notably, Eeda Joel Wesley (18) stands out as the sole candidate selected from the undivided East Godavari district for the Indian Air Force Agniveer (Y-Cadre). Following a six-month training regimen at the Airmen Training Centre in Belagavi, Karnataka, Joel is set to receive his official posting. Out of approximately 7,000 candidates who competed from Andhra Pradesh, only 98 were ultimately selected; among them, Joel Wesley was the one chosen from the undivided East Godavari district. Joel Wesley's father, Eeda Prasad (Chanti), works as a private sector employee, while his mother, Jhansi Lakshmi, serves as an Anganwadi worker.
Joel Wesley shared that his aspiration to serve in the Air Force—his preferred branch among the three defense services—dates back to his childhood. This ambition was nurtured by his family's background in the Military Colony, where many ancestors had served in the armed forces, including his grandfather, Pilli Anandam. Furthermore, he noted that seeing his maternal uncle, Savala Raja—who serves as a Constable—provided him with additional inspiration and motivation. He revealed that his goal is to reach a high position within the Indian Air Force in the future. Upon Joel Wesley's selection for the Indian Air Force, local public representatives, leaders, and villagers extended their congratulations to Joel Wesley and his parents.
