DRM Shri Lalit Bohra Inaugurates Premium Catering Outlet 'Deccan Chai' at Visakhapatnam Railway Station

Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times:July 15, 2026:As part of its continuous efforts to enhance passenger amenities and modernize station facilities, Shri Lalit Bohra, IRTS, Divisional Railway Manager, Visakhapatnam Division, South Coast Railway, today inaugurated the premium tea and coffee outlet 'Deccan Chai' at Visakhapatnam Railway Station. The outlet is conveniently located adjacent to the Bus Bay area for easy access by passengers.

The catering unit has been awarded to M/s Karthik Food World, Visakhapatnam, for a period of five years.  Besides offering quality tea, coffee, and quick-service refreshments to passengers, the outlet is expected to contribute significantly to the Railway's Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) through effective commercial utilization of station assets.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Lalit Bohra stated that Visakhapatnam Railway Station, being one of the busiest stations in the region, is committed to providing passengers with hygienic, quality food and beverage options from reputed brands. He added that such initiatives enhance the overall travel experience while ensuring optimum utilization of railway infrastructure.

Shri K. Pavan Kumar, Sr.DCM, Shri V.Ravi Varma, DCM and representatives of M/s Karthik Food World were present on the occasion. The outlet is now open to passengers and will serve premium-quality tea, coffee, and refreshments
