GENERAL MANAGER, SOUTH COAST RAILWAY REVIEWED GODAVARI PUSHKARAM ARRANGEMENTS AND CONDUCTED AMENITIES AND SAFETY INSPECTION*

 

General Manager of South Coast Railway, Shri Sandeep Mathur, conducted a comprehensive inspection of railway stations and passenger facilities today, i.e. on 11th July 2026 in connection with the preparations for the forthcoming Godavari Pushkaram.

Accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager,Vijayawada Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Chief Administrative Officer/ Construction Shri Ankush Gupta; Principal Chief Engineer Shri BSK Rajkumar; Principal Chief Commercial Manager Shri K Sambasiva Rao; IG & Principal Chief Security Commissioner Shri AK Sinha and senior railway officials from Division, 

General Manager   inspected Rajahmundry, Kovvur, Godavari and Samalkot Railway Stations to review passenger amenities, safety arrangements, cleanliness, crowd management measures and infrastructure readiness. He also conducted a rear window inspection of the railway sections between Visakhapatnam- Rajahmundry to assess track conditions, operational safety and railway assets.

As part of the inspection, Shri Sandeep Mathur inspected the prominent Pushkar Ghats and pilgrim access routes connecting the railway station with the bathing ghats to evaluate the preparedness for handling the anticipated influx of pilgrims during the festival. General Manager personally inspected prominent riverside ghats, including Pushkar Ghat, Markandeya Ghat, Shraddhanand Ghat, Saraswati Ghat, and Gowthami Ghat (near River Bay). 

General Manager also held a meeting with State Government officials to review the coordinated arrangements being made by the Railways and the State administration for ensuring safe, smooth and hassle-free travel for pilgrims during the Pushkaram period.

Later, Shri Sandeep Mathur continued his inspection of Samalkot, Tuni and Anakapalle Railway Stations, reviewing passenger facilities, station infrastructure, safety measures and operational preparedness.

The inspection was part of South Coast Railway's comprehensive efforts to ensure seamless train operations, enhanced passenger convenience, and robust preparedness for the smooth and successful conduct of the Godavari Pushkaram.
