Visakhapatnam:Indian News Times:August 20, 2026: The 61st All India Railway Ball Badminton Championship commenced today at the Railway Ball Badminton Courts, Visakhapatnam, with the inaugural ceremony organised by the South Coast Railway Sports Association (SCORSA), Visakhapatnam Division.
The championship is being conducted from 20th to 22nd August 2026, with eight teams representing different Zonal Railways of Indian Railways participating in the tournament.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. P. Hariprasad Garu, President, South Coast Railway Sports Association (SCORSA), South Coast Railway, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Shri Lalit Bohra, DRM, South Coast Railway, Visakhapatnam Division and President, SCORSA.
The three-day championship provides a vibrant platform for railway sportspersons from across the country to showcase their talent, competitive spirit and sporting excellence.
The event reflects the commitment of Indian Railways and South Coast Railway towards promoting sports, fitness, teamwork and a healthy competitive spirit among railway employees.
The championship will conclude on 22nd August 2026.
