Visakhapatnam :Indian news Times:August 31: Shri Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager, Visakhapatnam Division, South Coast Railway, presented Safety Awards to four railway staff members in recognition of their alertness, presence of mind and prompt action in identifying potential safety hazards.The awardees were:Sri M. Venu Gopal Rao, Sr. Train Manager/Pass/VSKP, who promptly noticed the shifting of an adapter of a wagon of an adjacent train while passing PVP Station and immediately alerted the concerned officials, helping avert a potential safety hazard.
Sri Kudipudi Satish, Sr. ALP/VSKP, who detected a broken outer helical spring in the primary suspension of a locomotive during shunting duties and immediately informed the concerned control officials, preventing a possible mishap.
Sri N. Umamaheswara Rao and Smt. K. Dhana Laxmi, Asst. (C&W)/PSA, who detected a Hot Axle with a temperature of 123.5°C during the rolling-in examination of a loaded train at PSA Station. The affected wagon was promptly detached and placed in the siding, averting a possible untoward incident.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Lalit Bohra, DRM/VSKP, appreciated the staff for their vigilance, safety consciousness and timely intervention. He emphasized that such alertness and adherence to safety procedures play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring safe train operations.
The DRM called upon all railway staff to remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and reporting safety-related issues
