AMARAVATI, August 25: Chief Minister N. Chandra babu Naidu directed offic ials to organise the Godavari Pushkarams on a grand scale. combining spiritual devotion with nature conservation while ensuring the highest standards of facilities, cleanliness and safery for devotees.
The 12-day Pushkarams scheduled to be held from June 26 to July 7, 2027. The government expects between 8 crore and 10 crore devotees to take holy dips in the Godavari during the event, with daily footfall potentially reaching nearly one crore
During a review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister examined progress of 4,932 works heing taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 4,026 crore for the Pus hkarams. With only around 100 months remaining, he directed officials to expedite the works and complete them within the
stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. Officials informed the Chief Minister that the Fin ance Department had already allocated Rs.899 crore. The works are being taken up ma inly by the Municipal Adm inistration, ation, Roads and Buil dings. Water Resources, Ener gy and Panchayat Raj depa rtments.
