Srikanth questioned the propriety of allegations that bribes ranging from ₹500 to ₹1,000 are being demanded from fishermen to install mandatory GPS trackers and SOS devices on their boats. He criticized the prevalence of corruption regarding safety equipment for fishermen, terming it unfortunate and a clear indication of the alliance government's failure.
He highlighted the tragic situation and the anxiety of the fishermen's families regarding the whereabouts of their loved ones, demanding that the government take immediate action.
