Amalapuram: Indian News Times :The birth anniversary celebrations of the father of colloquial Telugu language, Sri Gidugu Ramamurthy, were celebrated with great pomp by the students of Vidyanidhi educational institutions. First, they garlanded the portrait of Ramamurthy and paid homage. Language teacher Upadhrashta Krishna Kumari told the students in detail about his efforts to bring Telugu literature into the vernacular language and make it easy for the people to understand. The colloquial conversations told by A. Yashwanth, a 7th grade student in the guise of Gidugu Ramamurthy, highlighted the importance of the day.
The costumes and conversations of Tallapaka Thimmakka, Tarigonda Vengamamba, and Kawaitri Molla performed by the high school students were enthusiastic and inspiring.
The medium of study is English, and every student should develop love and interest in the mother tongue and read the best books in Telugu, thereby increasing their love for the language and knowledge, said the chairman of the educational institutions, A. B. Naidu. On this occasion, the traditional costumes of poets and poetesses displayed by many students were impressive. Principal T. N. Madhavi, teachers K. Nagamani, A. Jyothi, S. Ganga Bhavani and others participated in this program.
