Visakhapatnam :Indian News Times:August 20, 2026: The Women Empowerment Cell of St. Joseph’s College for Women (A), Visakhapatnam, organised a guest lecture on “Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship: From Ideas to Impact” on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., marking the eve of World Entrepreneurs Day.
The programme was organised for BBA students with the objective of creating awareness about entrepreneurship and encouraging young women to transform their ideas into meaningful and sustainable ventures.
Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji P.D. conveyed her wishes on the occasion and encouraged the students to equip themselves with knowledge, skills and confidence to become empowered professionals and future entrepreneurs. She emphasised the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset and being ready to take up new opportunities and challenges.Hannah Jennifer Jeevan B., Owner of Bonjour Cucina – Home Bakery, was the resource person for the session. Sharing her entrepreneurial journey and experiences, she highlighted the significance of confidence, creativity, effective planning, perseverance and the willingness to take initiative in building a successful enterprise.
The lecture emphasised that entrepreneurship can serve as a powerful pathway for women’s empowerment, promoting self-reliance, economic independence, leadership and social impact. The interaction with the resource person provided the students with practical insights, inspiration and motivation to explore entrepreneurial opportunities.
The theme of the programme, “Dream. Plan. Build. Impact.”, aptly conveyed the message that empowered women can become successful entrepreneurs and contribute significantly to the development of society and the nation.
The programme was organised by Dr. Tonia Grace, Mrs. Veena Spandana, Dr. Deepthi and Sr. Jane Thomas.
