VisakhaptnamIndian News Times:The Sisters, teaching and non-teaching faculty, and staff of St. Joseph’s College for Women Visakhapatnam, deeply mourned the passing of Rev. Sr. Albertine, SSJA, former Correspondent, Vice-Principal and Head of the Department of English of the college, who passed away at the age of 94 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Visakhapatnam, on 31 August 2026.
Sr. Albertine rendered dedicated and distinguished service to St. Joseph’s College in various capacities. As Correspondent, Vice-Principal and Head of the Department of English, she made a significant contribution to the academic and administrative growth of the institution. Her committed service, wisdom, discipline, gentle nature and selfless dedication earned her the respect and affection of generations of students, faculty and staff. She remained a deeply respected and cherished member of the St. Joseph’s family.
The college community remembered Sr. Albertine with profound gratitude and affection and cherished the memories of her long years of dedicated service. Principal Rev. Dr. Sr. Shyji P.D., along with the Sisters, faculty and staff of St. Joseph’s College for Women, expressed their deepest condolences and offered prayers for the repose of her soul. They prayed that God may grant her eternal rest and give strength and consolation to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, her family and all those who mourned her passing.
Her funeral was scheduled to be held on 1 September 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Convent Church, Waltair R.S., Gnanapuram, Visakhapatnam.
