B. Vishwa Prasad, President of the Andhra Pradesh Solar Integrators Welfare Association (AP-SIVA), announced that the 'Andhra Pradesh Solar Expo' and 'Andhra Pradesh Renewable Energy Expo' will be held on a large scale in Visakhapatnam on the 25th and 26th of this month.

Visakhapatnam- Indian News Times -Speaking at a press conference organized by AP-SIVA in Seethampeta on Monday, he stated that the event is being jointly organized by 'First View' and 'Solar Quarter' at Gadiraju Palace, with AP-SIVA serving as the association partner. He explained that the press conference was held to create awareness about the expo among the general public, solar industry companies, and students. The expo is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on the 25th and continue for two days, concluding on the 26th. Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat will attend as the chief guest, and APEPDCL CMD Immadi Pruthvi Tej will attend as the guest of honor. Vishwa Prasad noted that approximately 100 exhibitors would participate, setting up around 100 stalls, and that the event is expected to attract between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors. He emphasized that this is primarily an exhibition aimed at introducing various products, technologies, and facilities to the public.  The expo showcased solar energy solutions alongside renewable energy technologies such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), inverters, solar modules, cables, and other modern equipment. The organizing firm, 'Solar Quarter,' has extensive experience conducting solar expos across various regions; having previously organized an event in Visakhapatnam, they are now hosting this second edition. It was explained that the expo is particularly relevant given the rising public awareness regarding solar power usage—driven largely by the 'PM Surya Ghar' scheme—and focuses on solar power generation, consumption, storage, and emerging technologies. Vishnu Prasad noted that the Central Government is currently prioritizing Battery Energy Storage Systems within the renewable energy sector. Since BESS technology is likely to gain greater prominence in future initiatives like 'PM Surya Ghar,' there is a need to create awareness about it now. The expo caters to a diverse audience, including solar vendors, system integrators, and manufacturers, as well as engineering and technical students. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights from experts regarding new technologies, equipment capabilities, and usage methods. S.V. Rao, Advisor and Core Committee Member of AP-SHIVA, stated that the expo features special programs designed not only to raise public awareness about solar energy but also to highlight employment opportunities for students.  Details regarding technical training and employment opportunities for ITI and Polytechnic students were explained. It was stated that efforts are being made to encourage a large number of Electrical & Electronics (EE) and Electronics & Communication (EC) students from engineering colleges in Visakhapatnam to visit the expo. Students attending the expo will be awarded certificates. SV Rao mentioned that the expo would also benefit solar sector manufacturers, dealers, vendors, installers, and technical experts. It offers an opportunity to view new types of solar modules, inverters of various capacities, cables, batteries, and energy storage devices—all on a single platform. Information regarding renewable energy schemes implemented by the Central Government, subsidies, technical standards, and the setup of solar plants is also available. Those exploring new dealership or business opportunities will have the chance to interact directly with manufacturing companies. SV Rao added that experts would provide insights into the standards and modern practices required for installing solar systems.
