Conference on Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases...

Amalapuram- Visakhapatnam-Indian News Times -As part of the service programs organized on the occasion of the birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an awareness program on prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was organized at A. Vemavarappu Health Center, Amalapuram Rural Mandal, to commemorate the World Patient Safety Week.

Former village sub-sarpanch Vakapalli Venkateswara Rao, TDP village committee president Kammabathula Prasad, village committee general secretary Nakka Nagaveni, and Vasamsetty Venkateswara Rao participated as the chief guests of this program. On this occasion, medical staff and health workers took a pledge on prevention of non-communicable diseases. People were made aware of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer and others.
The medical staff advised people to take special care of their health and undergo regular health check-ups.  He said that the health center has facilities for conducting various medical tests such as hemoglobin, blood sugar, malaria, dengue, HIV, hepatitis-B, etc. He said that awareness programs are being conducted under the auspices of the health department with the aim of protecting the health of the people by early detection of diseases and providing timely treatment. PHC Bandarulanka, medical team Dr. Gauthami, PHN Vimaladevi, MLHP Sunitha, ANM Pallalamma, ASHA activist Nagamani, Health Assistant Chandrasekhar, Panchayat Secretary Ramakrishna and others participated in this program.
