Allavaram -Indian News Times -Dr. L. Vijaya Reddy, Assistant Director of the Area Veterinary Hospital, advised farmers to remain vigilant and ensure proper care for their dairy cattle during cyclones and floods. During his visit to Kodurupadu village in Allavaram Mandal, he raised awareness among farmers about the precautions to be taken for livestock during such weather events. He advised that if cattle sheds are located in low-lying areas, the animals should be relocated to sturdy buildings on higher ground, such as schools or community halls. He recommended stocking a seven-day supply of dry fodder, cattle feed, and rice bran, ensuring they are protected with polythene covers. He also advised storing enough drinking water in drums to last three to four days and attaching a tag bearing the owner's name and phone number to each animal's neck.

He cautioned against keeping cattle tightly tethered during cyclones and floods; instead, the ropes should be loosened so the animals can swim to safety if water levels rise. He further advised against tying cattle near electric poles or trees prone to falling. For emergency assistance, he urged farmers to call the Animal Husbandry Department's toll-free number (1962) or the Disaster Management helpline (1077).  Mandal Veterinary Officer Allu Kavya, Kodurupadu Secretary Durgaprasad, Village Animal Husbandry Assistant K. Shiva Nagendra, Village Agriculture Assistant M. Girish, and dairy farmers Pilla Chinnabbulu, Venkatalakshmi, and D. Venkatesh, among others, participated in this program.
