Amalapuram/Visakhapatnam -Indian News Times-...As part of environmental conservation efforts during the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival, the Lions Club of Amalapuram Vashishtha and the Konaseema Mahila Mandali jointly distributed 700 clay Ganesha idols to devotees free of cost. The event's chief guest was Lion Seth Anil Kumar Jain (PMJF, PMCC), Global Membership Coordinator for MD-316, while Region Chairperson Lion Jampana Suman Varma (MJF) and Zone Chairperson Lion Ravanam Venugopala Rao attended as special guests and inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon.
Speaking on the occasion, Lion Seth Anil Kumar Jain urged everyone to worship eco-friendly clay Ganesha idols instead of those made of Plaster of Paris, which are harmful to the environment. He stated that everyone should contribute to upholding tradition while also helping to protect the environment by using clay idols. Region Chairperson Lion Jampana Suman Varma, attending as a special guest, remarked that such service programs conducted by the Lions Club for environmental protection play a vital role in raising public awareness. He encouraged everyone to use eco-friendly clay idols and work towards ensuring a clean environment for future generations.
Zone Chairperson Lion Ravanam Venugopala Rao praised the service initiatives undertaken by the Lions Club of Amalapuram Vashishtha. He noted that by distributing clay Ganesha idols for free during Vinayaka Chaturthi, the club is conveying a positive message about environmental protection. The program, organized with the theme "Let us worship clay Ganesha... Let us protect the environment," received an excellent response from the devotees. Participants in the program included Lion Chikkala Aruna (President, Lions Club of Amalapuram Vashishtha), Lion Sishtha Lakshmi Devi (Secretary), Lion D. Padma Prasad (Treasurer), Lion Makireddy Purnima (Global Service Chairperson), Lion Polishetty Anantha Lakshmi, Lion Pampana Padmalata, Lion T. Lakshmi, Lion Satya Kumari (President, Konaseema Mahila Mandali), P. Lalita, Anantha Lakshmi (Honorary President), Lalita Kameshwari, Padmavati, Alluri Jyothi, and other villagers.
