Amalapuram-Indian News Times -On the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, grand celebrations were held at the ISKCON temple in Janupalli village, Amalapuram, under the guidance of Guruji Sivananda Swamiji. Dignitaries including AmalapuramMLA Aitabathula Anandarao, AMUDA Chairman Allada Sombabu, State Secretary Metla Ramanababu, senior journalist M.N.V. Prasad (Bobby), YCP Mandapeta observer Vanteddu Venkannaidu, Janasena Rural Mandal President Lingolu Pandu, former MPP Vakapalli Venkannaidu, and TDP leader Vasamsetti Jagadeesh participated in the event. They oversaw the 'Utti Kottu' (pot-breaking) ritual—a favorite of Lord Krishna—performed by children dressed as Sri Krishna and Radha. Devotees expressed their joy at the magnificent celebration of Lord Krishna's birthday at the Janupalli ISKCON temple and the prize distribution for winners of school-level fancy dress and drawing competitions. Cultural performances, particularly the songs sung by Varshini, captivated the devotees. Speaking on the occasion, Sivananda Swamiji expressed happiness that MLA Anandarao and other prominent leaders participated in the festivities, offered prayers to the Lord, and received *Teertha-Prasadam* (sanctified offerings). It was announced that various discourses and a massive community feast would be organized to commemorate ISKCON founder Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. A large number of devotees participated in these celebrations.
