Visakhapatnam Indian News Times -A review meeting was held today, 15.09.2026, at Bill Junction Hall, presided over by the District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao, for Medical Officers of Urban and Primary Health Centers across the district. During the meeting, a quarterly review regarding seasonal diseases—such as Dengue and Malaria—was conducted. Additionally, a re-orientation session on NVBDCP (National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme) activities was provided to all Medical Officers. District Malaria Officer Sri Varaprasad, GVMC Biologist Sri Sambamurthy, and Assistant Malaria Officer Sri B. Nagabhushanam provided detailed explanations regarding seasonal diseases like Dengue and Malaria, outlining their symptoms and necessary preventive measures.

District Programme Officer (DPMO-NHM) Dr. B. Umavathi and District Programme Officer (DPO) Sri Sasibhushan explained the 'Sanjeevani' programme in detail, covering operational guidelines and the 'Sanjeevani' gap analysis.

Subsequently, WHO representative Dr. Kalyani and District Public Health Nursing Officer (DPHNO) Smt. M. Satyavathi discussed matters related to Maternal and Child Health and MMR.  Details regarding the analysis were presented. Subsequently, Dr. B. Harika, the District RBSK Coordinator, provided a detailed overview of the NCD and RBSK programs.

Dr. Lucy, the District Immunization Officer, spoke about immunization services.
Next, Dr. R. Ramesh, the District Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control Officer, gave a detailed explanation regarding LCDC.
Following this, District Surveillance Officer Dr. Pradeep Raja and District Epidemiologist Dr. Shanthi Soundarya explained matters related to epidemics, IHIP, and seasonal diseases.
Finally, the District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao, reviewed the aforementioned programs. He emphasized the importance of focusing on IVRS calls, ensuring the availability of staff at Urban and Primary Health Centers, and guaranteeing that medical services reach the public.
