Visakhapatnam -The Sub-District Level Multi-Member Appropriate Authority and Advisory Committee on Fetal Sex Determination Committee meeting was held in the RDO chamber of the District Collector's office under the chairmanship of Shri S. Dilip Chakravarthy,
Revenue Division Officer, Visakhapatnam. Dr. Y.D. Kalyani invited all the committee members to this meeting and while addressing the meeting, informed that all the scanning centers in the district have been inspected and appropriate instructions have been given, and these inspections will be done every three months. The RDO, while addressing, directed that all the scanning centers should be inspected at the appropriate time and decoy operations should be done regularly. He also directed that normal deliveries should be done in private hospitals.
He directed to identify the areas where the ratio of unborn children is low and to create awareness there with the slogan that fetal sex determination is a crime under the law and to take steps to ensure that IEC programs reach all the areas frequently. He directed to thoroughly examine the registers in the scanning center when visiting it.
In this meeting, Dr. Y.D.Kalyani, Medical Officer, Dr.Usha Prasad, Gynecologist, VGH, Dr.Srikanth, Radiologist, Dr.Madan Mohan, Pediatrics, Sri B.Nageswara Rao Demo, Smt. Ramalakshmi, NGO, Smt.Suryakala, SI, Visakhapatnam Mahila Police Station participated.
