Visakhapatnam- Indian News Times -A Tri-services Missile Technology Seminar 2026 centered on the theme “Intelligent Armament – Future Trends in Naval Armament Technology for Battlefield Dominance” was organised by INS Kalinga under the aegis of Headquarters Eastern Naval Command from 09-10 Sep 26 at the Samudrika Auditorium, Visakhapatnam. Vice Admiral Susheel Menon AVSM, VSM, Chief of Staff, ENC, inaugurated the seminar. Distinguished guests including Dr Prahlada Ramarao, Dr GA Srinivasa Murthy and Cmde A Madhavrao (Retd), former CMD Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), attended the event and shared their immense experience to chart the path for development of new-age missile systems.
The seminar was also enriched by the participation of Lt Gen Arun Ananthanarayan PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM (Retd.) and Dr Venkatesh N, Outstanding Scientist, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), who brought valuable perspectives from their extensive experience in the field. The two-day event brought together senior officers and subject matter experts from the Indian Armed Forces, DRDO, DPSUs, private industry and academia. Deliberations focused on the evolving role of missile systems in contemporary conflicts, operational lessons from recent conflicts, emerging technologies around the world and indigenous development roadmap towards Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
An exhibition was also inaugurated by Vice Admiral Susheel Menon showcasing
contemporary and emerging defence technologies. The exhibition featured participation from DPSUs, private industries, MSMEs and academic institutions, providing a platform to display capabilities and innovative solutions in missile, aerospace and defence technologies. The seminar reinforced the importance of collaboration across the defence ecosystem in strengthening India's indigenous armament capabilities.
