September 29 – Medicover Hospitals organizes 2 km walkathon on World Heart Day

Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times -On the occasion of **World Heart Day** celebrated on September 29, Medicover Hospitals organized a special awareness program at Visakhapatnam Beach Road. **Dr. Arun Kumar**, Head of Medicover Hospitals Center, led the program.

Around **1,000 people** participated in the program. **Dr. Hemant Kumar Behera** presented the first batch of the program. Later, the chief guest **Shri Bishnu Charan Maunkiya Ji, Commandant, 234 BN CRPF**, as well as **Dr. Karunakar Padhi** flagged off the walkathon. The walkathon was organized for around **2 km walkathon** from Kalimata Temple to YMCA.

The doctors, youth, Medicover staff and the public who participated in the walkathon enthusiastically participated and created awareness on heart health. A **flashmob** organized by the youth and doctors in the middle of the walkathon was a special attraction. The participants successfully completed the walkathon by raising slogans related to heart health.

Speaking on the occasion, the doctors said that the risk of heart-related diseases is increasing not only among the elderly but also among the youth. Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and factors such as changing lifestyle, unhealthy eating habits, lack of physical activity and high stress are having a negative impact on heart health.
