Visakhapatnam -Indian News Times- 5th September 2026: The Student Council of St. Joseph's College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, celebrated Teachers' Day Celebrations from 1st to 5th September 2026 with great enthusiasm and gratitude.
As part of the celebrations, outdoor games like Balloon Stamp, Treasure Hunt, Throwball, Cricket, Tug of War, Lemon & Spoon were organized on 1st to 3rd September, followed by Indoor Games like Blindfold Drawing, Whisper Challenge, Pictionary and Word Anthakshari on 5th September at the College Seminar Hall. Faculty members participated with great sportiveness and active spirit, making the events a grand success.
The formal Teachers' Day programme was held at the college premises with floral tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji, Vice Principal Dr. Sr. Hema, Student Council Head Dr. Capt. K. Sujatha, Student Council Advisors Sony, Sr. Nirmala, Pratyusha, Mousami, Urmila, Koteswarao, Praveen, All faculty of St. Joseph's and students participated.
On this occasion, the prestigious *LSRK Best Award 2026*, instituted by *Dr. Y. Lakshmi Prabha, Former Head, Department of Home Science, St. Joseph's College for Women*, was presented to *Dr. P. Bhushanavathi, Controller of Examinations, St. Joseph's College for Women (A)* for her dedicated and meritorious service.
The award was presented by Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji, Vice Principal Dr. Sr. Hema and Dr. Y. Lakshmi Prabha in the presence of Student Council members and faculty. All faculty members were felicitated with tokens of love and gratitude by the Student Council.
The programme concluded with cultural programmes by the students expressing love, respect and gratitude towards their teachers.
