Visakhapatnam Indian News Times -October 2, 2026:*Celebrations marking Gandhi Jayanti were held with great enthusiasm at the Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) on Friday.VIMS Director Dr. V. Manmadha Rao paid rich tributes by garlanding the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at the institute's main administrative building.
Speaking on the occasion, he remarked that the life of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, serves as an ideal for everyone. He urged all healthcare professionals to uphold the noble values exemplified by Gandhiji—such as truth, non-violence, tolerance, and a spirit of service. He advised them to move forward with the primary goal of serving patients.
VIMS Deputy Director Srinivas Kumar, Nursing Superintendent Sugita Swarnalatha, doctors from various departments, nursing staff, paramedical staff, administrative personnel, and students participated in the event.
