Visakhapatnam Indian News Times:On this day, 24.10.2026, a research team from ICMR Chennai visited Visakhapatnam and met with the District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao, and the District Epidemiologist, Dr. Pradeep Raja. The team inquired about the proactive action plan formulated for addressing heatstroke during the summer of 2026. The visiting team included Dr. Vaidesh Goswami (Project Research Scientist-II), Dr. Vijjeswaran K. (Project Research Scientist-II), Dr. Priyanti A. (Project Research Scientist-I), and Mr. Vijjeswar Babu (Project Research Scientist-III). Representing ICMR (Delhi and Chennai), the research team consulted with the District Medical and Health Officer and the District Surveillance Officer to learn about the heat-related calendar/plan prepared for the district for the year 2026.
Also present at this meeting were Dr. Jagadish Prasad (Medical Officer) and others. Shanthi Soundarya, District Epidemiologist, along with Health Department staff and Mr. B. Nagabhushana Rao, Assistant Malaria Officer, participated.
