SEMINAR ON DIGITAL & AI TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENHANCING RAILWAY SAFETY HELD AT SOUTH COAST RAILWAY*

Visakhaptnam: Indian News Times: South Coast Railway, in association with L2MRail, organized a seminar on the “Use of Digital & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technologies for Railway Safety” at the South Coast Railway Zonal Headquarters Office, The Deck Building, Visakhapatnam, today.

The seminar was presided over by Shri Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, South Coast Railway. Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs) and senior officers from various departments of South Coast Railway participated in the seminar and held detailed discussions on the emerging role of Digital Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced data-driven solutions in further strengthening railway safety.

During the seminar, L2MRail, an IISc-origin Deep Tech company specializing in railway safety technologies, made a detailed presentation on "Digital & AI technologies for Railway Safety" made by Shri G. Srinivasa Rao, IRSSE(Retd), leading the team L2Mrail. 

The seminar provided an opportunity to explore the application of advanced digital and AI-based technologies for early detection of safety-related defects, predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, automated inspection and data-driven decision-making.  

The discussions also highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and other digital technologies in transforming railway inspection and maintenance practices.
