The programme is being organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Visakhapatnam District, in association with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Sri R. Lakshmana Rao, State President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the trainees, Sri R. Lakshmana Rao urged women to make the best use of skill development opportunities and acquire new skills that would enable them to contribute more meaningfully to their families and society. He said the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations would continue to undertake such initiatives to provide skills, employment opportunities, confidence and self-reliance, particularly to economically disadvantaged women.

He said that while Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations conduct several free skill development programmes across the country, this is the first time in India that a free Child Care Taker Training Programme is being launched by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Visakhapatnam District, in association with APSSDC. Providing women with useful and employment-oriented skills is an important component of the Organisation’s service activities, he added.

Smt. Yuvatha Reddy will provide specialised training to the participating women as part of the programme.

The special guests Smt. Kamala Triveni; Sri K. Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Labour; Sri N. Govindarao, District Skill Development Officer; Dr. M. They said that the Child Care Taker Training Programme would open up promising livelihood opportunities for women, as trained child care professionals are in considerable demand in society.

The 360-hour training programme will equip women in the 19–40 age group with skills required for caring for children aged 2–6 years. Those who successfully complete the training will receive a Government-certified certificate, which can help them pursue employment and livelihood opportunities.

The training will provide avenues for employment in baby care centres, hospitals, kindergartens, day-care centres and home-based child care services. The programme is particularly beneficial for unemployed women, homemakers and those seeking to acquire a new skill for livelihood opportunities.

The training is being offered completely free of cost, with a spirit of service and with the divine blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, through the collaborative efforts of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations and APSSDC.
