Journalists' 'Demands Day' a Success* *Journalists Rally in Visakhapatnam* *Memorandum Submitted Seeking Resolution of 11 Pending Issues* *Organized by the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Federation*

Visakhapatnam Collectorate, July 31The 'Demands Day' program, organized by the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Federation in Visakhapatnam on Friday to address pending issues faced by journalists across the state, was a resounding success. Journalists submitted a memorandum listing 11 demands to District Revenue Officer (DRO) Visweswara Naidu at the Visakhapatnam District Collectorate. Speaking on the occasion, DRO Visweswara Naidu stated that the memorandum submitted by the journalists would be forwarded to the government and assured that efforts would be made to resolve their issues. Gantla Srinubabu (Secretary, National Union of Journalists - NUJ; State Leader, AP Working Journalists Federation) and P. Narayana (Visakhapatnam District President) stated that 'Demands Day' was successfully observed in all districts following the call given by their state executive committee. They noted that a large number of journalists participated in the event and raised slogans urging the resolution of their demands. They called upon the coalition government—which is benefiting various sections of society—to address the legitimate demands of journalists, highlighting that issues such as housing sites and pensions have remained pending for years. They also demanded the establishment of a media commission and accident insurance coverage.  A joint event was organized by the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Federation, the Broadcast Journalists Association, and the Small and Medium Newspapers Association. They called for the revitalization and strengthening of the C.R. Raghavachari Press Academy and urged the immediate completion of all related committee processes.

Participants in the event included Federation Organizing Secretary Dhavaleswarapu Ravi Kumar; Joint Secretaries G. Rambabu and Madhu; Executive Committee members M.V. Rajasekhar, G.R.S. Ramesh, and Nela Raju; and Vice President Pilla Nagesh Babu.

Also present were Broadcast Association President Irothi Eswar Rao and Secretary Kinthada Madan; Small and Medium Newspapers Association President V.S. Jaganmohan, Joint Secretary Bobbara Prasad, and Executive Committee member Arun Bhaskar (Hari); along with journalists Gautam, Vinay, Pakki Ramesh, Ramana, Simhadri, Vijay Kumar, Raj Kumar, and Banni. A large number of journalists participated in the program.
