The 80th Independence Day celebrations at St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, were held with great patriotic fervour and national spirit. The celebrations featured an impressive NCC March Past, National Flag Hoisting and Salute, and a vibrant array of patriotic cultural programmes.
Wing Commander P. Chandrasekhar (Retd.), District Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO), Visakhapatnam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and added significance to the celebrations.
The programme was successfully conducted under the able leadership of the Principal, Dr. Sr. Shyji P.D., with the support of the Vice Principal, Dr. Sr. Hema.
The celebrations were coordinated by Dr. Capt. K. Sujatha, Head, Student Council, with the active participation of Lieutenant Prudhvi, Dr. E. Harini, Sony, Dr. Sr. Nirmala, Dr. Mousumi, Pratyusha, Dr. Koteswara Rao, Dr. Praveen, Urmila and the members of the Student Council.
The patriotic cultural performances presented by the students were a major attraction of the celebrations.
Through their enthusiastic participation, the students conveyed a strong message of freedom, unity, patriotism and dedication to national service, making the Independence Day celebrations a memorable and inspiring occasion.
