Five-Day Faculty Development Programme Concludes at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College


Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times:August 14: A five-day national-level Faculty Development Programme (FDP), jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science and ICT Academy at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College for Degree and PG Courses (Autonomous), MVP Campus, Visakhapatnam, concluded successfully on Friday. The training programme, titled “Data Analytics Using Python,” was conducted from August 10 to 14.

The programme commenced with a prayer by Ms. Laya, Faculty Member, Department of Computer Science. Ms. Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, Faculty Member, Department of Computer Science, warmly welcomed the guests and participants to the programme.

Presiding over the programme, the College Director, Mr. D. Giridhar, emphasized the importance of data analytics in the present digital era. He advised faculty members to continuously upgrade their knowledge of emerging technologies in order to provide quality education to students. He stated that such training programmes contribute significantly to enhancing teaching standards. He congratulated the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Mr. Krishna Kumar, Ms. Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, the organizing team, and all the faculty members who participated in the training programme for its successful conduct.

Subsequently, Ms. Vasantha, Faculty Member, Department of Computer Science, introduced Mr. Rakesh Puvvada, who served as the trainer for the programme.


During the five-day training programme, eminent technical trainer Mr. Rakesh Puvvada highlighted the importance of providing faculty members with practical knowledge of data analytics, data modelling, data processing, and related concepts using Python in the present technological era. As part of the training, he provided hands-on demonstrations and explained various aspects of data analysis, data processing, and data modelling.

Faculty members from Gayatri Vidya Parishad College, along with faculty members from Adarsh Degree College, Avanthi Institute of Engineering, Dadi Institute, Dr. L.B. College, NSRIT Engineering College, Sripada College, and other educational institutions, participated in the programme.

Faculty members including Mr. Shankar Shastri, along with Heads of various departments and other faculty members, attended the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Madhuri, Faculty Member, Department of Computer Science.
