Homoeopathy Offers Real Hope in Autism: National Seminar "Beyond the Spectrum" at ASRHMC, Tadepalligudem

TadepalligudemI :ndian news Times :16th August 2026: ASR Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Tadepalligudem, in collaboration with Alisha Academy, successfully conducted a One-Day National Seminar (Hybrid Mode), "Beyond the Spectrum – Homoeopathy's Answer to Autism," on Sunday, 16th August 2026, at the college Seminar Hall. A total of 260 delegates from all over India — faculty, practitioners, interns and students — participated in hybrid mode, both in person and online.

The seminar focused on the growing need to address Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through individualised homoeopathic care. A significant highlight of the day was the presentation of evidence-based treated autism cases, in which the eminent faculty shared video documentation of children who showed marked improvement under homoeopathic treatment. These real case demonstrations — showing progress in speech, behaviour, eye contact and social interaction — drew keen appreciation from the audience and powerfully conveyed that autism can be meaningfully helped through homoeopathy.

Delivering the keynote masterclass, Prof. Dr. Samir Chaukkar, International Teacher and Dean, Dr. Batra's Academy, Mumbai, shared his vast global experience in treating autism cases from across the world. Through documented cases and videos of treated children, he demonstrated the encouraging outcomes of individualised homoeopathic care and emphasised the physician's role in perceiving the whole child rather than the label alone.

Prof. Dr. G. Chandra Sekhara Rao, eminent international teacher and academician, delivered a highly enlightening address on Child Psychiatry & Homoeopathy. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge and long experience, he elaborated on the psychiatric understanding of autism and childhood behavioural disorders and its integration with homoeopathic practice. His in-depth insights into child psychiatry, the developmental aspects of autism, and the homoeopathic approach to such cases were widely appreciated by the delegates and formed one of the most valuable learning experiences of the seminar.

Prof. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Principal, ASRHMC, spoke on Understanding Autism through the Boenninghausen Approach, explaining how the Boenninghausen method serves as a valuable tool to understand the patient and the materia medica, and thereby to arrive at a deeper understanding of the autistic child for accurate individualised treatment.

Prof. Dr. Ananda Rao Sanapala presented the clinical features of autism, helping delegates recognise the condition early and understand its presentation for better management.

Together, the speakers emphasised that homoeopathy, with its individualised and holistic approach, has much to offer children on the spectrum — and that early, evidence-based intervention can make a real difference in the lives of affected children and their families. The seminar thus created wide awareness about the scope of homoeopathic treatment in autism.

As part of the academic programme, 25 participants presented their papers during this national seminar, sharing their original work, research and clinical experiences.

On the occasion, both distinguished guests — Dr. Kolli Raju, President, Indian Institute of Homoeopathic Physicians, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, and Dr. B. Vijaya Lakshmi, Medical Superintendent, Government Area Hospital, Tadepalligudem — were felicitated. In recognition of their distinguished contributions to Homoeopathy, the college conferred the Dr. Hahnemann Award for Clinical Excellence on Prof. Dr. Samir Chaukkar and the Dr. Hahnemann Award for Academic Excellence on Prof. Dr. G. Chandra Sekhara Rao. Winners of the reel competition, "Story Today, Impact Tomorrow," were also felicitated, and certificates were presented to the paper presenters.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali said the seminar reflected the institution's commitment to advancing homoeopathic education and to serving children with autism and their families, adding that autism is truly the need of the hour and that homoeopathy has a meaningful, evidence-supported role to play.
