Amalapuram: Indian News Times Yadla Manikumari from Kandalapalem (P. Gannavaram constituency, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district) was bitten by a snake while working under the Employment Guarantee Scheme. Her husband, Yadla Balakrishna, broke down in tears while speaking to the media at the Collectorate,
stating that they had sold all their assets and spent four lakh rupees—an amount far beyond their means—on her medical treatment. He lamented that no Employment Guarantee officials had shown any concern or offered support so far. Family members expressed their anguish over her dire condition, noting that her leg has begun to rot and she is unable to perform even basic daily tasks. Yadla Satyavati, Yadla Durga Lakshmi, Manukonda Kanthamma, and others participated in this event.
