Spirit of Independence” Comes Alive at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar; Hon’ble MP Sri M. Sribharat Inaugurates Two-Day Exhibition

Visakhaptnam: Indian News Times:Marking the Centenary Celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the Independence Day Celebrations, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Visakhapatnam, which is run under the aegis of Sri Sathya Sai State Trust, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, is organising a spectacular two-day Exhibition-cum-Cultural Programme on August 15 and 16, under the guidance of the Sri Sathya Sai National Council for Schools.

Themed “Spirit of Independence – One Nation, One Spirit, One Heart,” the exhibition explores the deeper dimensions of independence—physical, intellectual and spiritual—and seeks to inspire students towards self-discipline, self-reliance, character and service.

The exhibition was inaugurated today by Sri M. Sribharat Garu, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam and President, GITAM Deemed to be University, as the Guest of Honour. He received a grand welcome from the school band and, after offering his obeisance at the altar, Mr. Sri Bharat addressed the students of Standards 7 to 10, engaging them in an inspiring and meaningful interaction. He encouraged the students to carry forward the values they learn at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar and grow into responsible, ideal, and value-based citizens.

He commended the school for its commitment to value-based education and appreciated the efforts of the Management in nurturing students with strong moral and human values. 

Mr. SriBharat encouraged the students to ask questions and express their thoughts freely. The children enthusiastically participated in the interactive session, raising thought-provoking questions on how to become good leaders, how to develop the power to influence people positively, how to make a mark for themselves in a competitive world, and how to contribute towards creating a better society.

Mr. Sri Bharat responded to their questions with warmth and insight, drawing upon relatable, day-to-day examples to make his thoughts meaningful and relevant to the students. His interaction encouraged the children to look beyond academic success and develop leadership qualities, confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of social commitment.

Following the interaction, Mr. Sri Bharat visited the “Spirit of Independence” Exhibition, taking keen interest in the exhibits and appreciating the sincere efforts and hard work of the students. He commended the children for their creativity, dedication, and enthusiastic participation and appreciated the school for organizing such a meaningful and wonderful exhibition.

His words of encouragement and appreciation served as a great source of motivation for the students and added immense significance to the “Spirit of Independence” Exhibition, making the occasion truly memorable.

170+ Exhibits. 500+ Young Minds in exhibition + 300 students in cultural programs.

300 students participated in the cultural programs and more than 500 students have participated in the exhibition, presenting over 170 exhibits covering themes such as The Golden Era, The Rise of Indian Resistance, The Awakening of Nationalism, From Swadeshi to Swaraj, Unsung Freedom Heroes, Declaration of Independence, The True Meaning of Independence, The Path to Spiritual Freedom, Inner Transformation through Value-Based Education, and The Fulfilment of the True Spirit of Independence.

The exhibits pay tribute not only to celebrated freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Lala Lajpat Rai, but also to countless unsung heroes whose sacrifices contributed to India’s freedom

Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour

Earlier in the day, the 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour, dignity and enthusiasm. Sri Tribhuvan Sachdeva, Convenor, Sri Sathya Sai National Council for Schools, hoisted the National Tricolour, followed by the National Anthem, Vande Mataram, Parade Review and a disciplined March Past by the students.

The celebrations emphasised that true independence extends beyond political freedom to freedom of the body, mind, intellect and spirit, rooted in Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-violence. The inaugural cultural programme presented a vibrant portrayal of Physical, Intellectual and Spiritual Independence through a captivating Nukkad Natak, patriotic songs and graceful dances.

Sri M.V.R. Seshasai Garu addressed the gathering and shared a heartfelt message that Bhagawan’s blessings are like a protective umbrella that has always sheltered, guided, and protected the school at every step of its journey.

The Guest of Honour, Sri Tribhuvan Sachdeva in his inspiring address, reminded the students how fortunate they are to be a part of Sri Sathya Sai educational institutions.

The Shanti House was declared the winner of the March Past competition in recognition of its discipline, teamwork, and excellence. Mementos were presented to the Guest of Honour as well as the special guests as tokens of gratitude and appreciation for gracing the occasion.
