St. Joseph’s College for Women Inaugurates Three-Day Faculty Development Program on Artificial Intelligence

Visakhapatnam:Indian News Times :5 August 2026:St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Andhra University, inaugurated a Three-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on 5 August 2026 at the College Seminar Hall. The inaugural session was held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

The FDP is organized as part of the Andhra University Centenary Celebrations under RUSA 2.0 with the theme “Empowering Educators and Researchers with Artificial Intelligence: An Interdisciplinary Learning.”

The program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of educators and researchers in emerging domains of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data-driven technologies, and their applications across diverse disciplines. It focuses on enabling faculty members to integrate AI-based tools and innovative methodologies into teaching, learning, and research practices.

Prof. T. V. Krishna, Dean, College Development Council (CDC), Andhra University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the inaugural address. He emphasized the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, research, and academic innovation.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Chief Patron Dr. Sr. Shyji P. D., Principal, St. Joseph’s College for Women, and Patron Dr. Sr. S. Hema, Vice-Principal.

Mrs. K. Naga Sireesha, Head, Department of Computer Science, served as the Convener of the FDP.

The three-day FDP provided participants with practical exposure to Artificial Intelligence tools, innovative teaching methodologies, research applications, and industry-oriented practices. Through expert lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on learning sessions, the program empowered educators to explore AI-driven approaches for academic excellence and research advancement.

The sessions focused on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, emerging technologies, and their interdisciplinary applications in teaching, learning, and research.

A total of 30 participants, including faculty members and academicians from various disciplines, actively participated in the FDP. Faculty members from St. Joseph’s College for Women who participated include G. Deepthi, S. Madhuri, Kumkum Dhara, J. Anitha Rani, K. Esther Lily, T. Susan Salomi, and M. Sandeep.

The FDP served as a significant platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and fostering a culture of innovation among educators, reinforcing the institution’s commitment towards technology-enabled and future-ready education.
