Amalapuram: Indian News Times :The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) party has expressed strong objections regarding illegal constructions, encroachments on the 'Kummara' canal, and the occupation of crematorium lands near the Idarapalli bypass in Amalapuram. Bonthu Ramana, the VCK State Deputy General Secretary, lodged a formal complaint regarding this matter with the District Collector of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted several key issues regarding the irregularities taking place on the ground:

A new road is being constructed by encroaching upon the Kummara canal, replacing the existing 10-foot footpath that ran from the fish market to the bypass road. This activity is damaging the paddy fields and patta lands belonging to local poor farmers.
He pointed out that the compound wall for the Hindu crematorium—being built by the municipality with a grant of ₹10 lakhs—is being constructed beyond the original boundaries, creating a risk of future land shortages. He alleged that real estate developers are colluding with officials to encroach upon public assets under the guise of constructing a 42-foot road. District President David Ambedkar, District Secretary Kasi Saikumar, District Youth President Palamuru Sandeep, Bula Vinay, and others participated in this event.
